To complete the one-time enrolment, open a command line terminal (Command Prompt, PowerShell, Terminal, etc.). Paste this enrolment command with the authkey you received in the email:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>tailscale up --login-server=https:\/\/restun.biota.utoronto.ca --authkey <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">hskey-auth-xxxx<\/mark><\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Run the command; it will complete after a few seconds. Open the Tailscale app. You should now see a connection profile called &#8220;restun.biota.utoronto.ca&#8221;. It will say Connected when the tunnel is active. Use the button to activate and deactivate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, the servers to which you have been granted access will be reachable using their one-word hostname followed by &#8220;.<code>restun<\/code>&#8220;. For example, if your group&#8217;s server is called &#8220;<code>cherrybomb<\/code>&#8220;, you could open an SSH session using the command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>ssh myusername@cherrybomb.restun<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, to connect using a browser, you would use the URL form:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><code>https:\/\/cherrybomb.restun\/<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Notes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disconnect the Tailscale network when not needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To gain access to the CSB \/ EEB Research Tunnel network, have your PI contact BIOTA with your email address and the names of the server(s) to which you need access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need access to the same servers from multiple devices, please indicate that in your request. By default an authkey is only valid for a single device.
